Engineering Project Final Reports
Students
doing the engineering projects are required to turn in two final reports, one for the bridge project and one for the car project.
The report is a summary of the evolution of the bridge (or car). The report should be an engineer’s description of the
design process.
You
should discuss:
- What was the initial design?
- How did you come up with that initial design?
- Did you do any preliminary testing? (comparing types of spaghetti or glue? Trial
runs on the car?) If so what happened and what changes did you make as a result of the tests?
- Did you make any changes in the initial design as you began construction? If so,
why?
- Discuss the final design and how you could improve upon it if you did this again.
You
are also required to turn in diagrams (labeled, neat, with dimensions) of the final design that are either computer generated
or on graph paper (drawn with a ruler), AND your logbook.
NOTE:
Each student does their OWN report.
The
reports will be graded on the degree to which it is a thorough summary of the evolution of the bridge, the detail, thoroughness
and neatness of the diagrams, including all required information in the report and the quality and thoroughness of the logbook.
